Radiant Slab Layout Drawings

AutoCAD-based tubing layout drawings for poured concrete and gypcrete slabs, optimized for uniform heat distribution per zone.

Thermal Load Calculations

Room-by-room heat loss calculations verifying that proposed tube spacing and water temperature will meet design conditions per ASHRAE methodology.

Manifold Sizing & Schedule

Complete manifold assembly schedule specifying port count, circuit lengths, flow rates, and pressure drop for every zone in the system.

Mixing Valve Sizing

Injection mixing valve or mixing module sizing to deliver correct supply water temperature to radiant loops from a higher-temperature heat source.

Control Strategy Documentation

Thermostat specification, outdoor reset curve recommendations, and zone control sequence of operations for the BAS or standalone zone controller.

Product Specification Cut Sheets

Complete product specification package including submittal-ready cut sheets, ASTM/ANSI standards compliance references, and installation tolerances.

Minimum requirements: dimensioned floor plans indicating zone boundaries, construction type (slab-on-grade, suspended slab, staple-up, gypcrete), finish floor material, and design heating or cooling load. For complex commercial projects, a Manual J/D or ASHRAE load calculation is preferred.

Yes, for projects specifying Uponor products. Our engineering services are a core part of Uponor's value proposition — we invest in your project's success because system performance reflects on our products. There is no obligation and no minimum order requirement to receive a design.

Yes. Uponor engineers regularly design four-pipe hydronic systems with radiant heating in winter and chilled water cooling via radiant ceiling panels or chilled beams in summer. Dew point control is a critical design consideration for cooling applications and is addressed in the control strategy documentation.

Standard residential slab-on-grade spacing is 9 to 12 inches on center for most climates using ½" or ⅝" AquaPEX. Edge zones near exterior walls may use 6-inch spacing to compensate for higher heat loss. Actual spacing is determined by the thermal output calculation, not a default — Uponor's design service calculates the correct spacing for your specific loads.
